Corruption and economic crime reporting platform, with the possibility to report and communicate anonymously
Corruption and economic crime damage companies and the general public.
For more than 10 years there has been a tried and tested possibility of submitting reports on the Internet and communicating anonymously with the officers of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Lower Saxony. Around 2,600 whistleblowers have already made use of this.
The Internet-bases communication platform BKMS® Incident Reporting provides the possibility of anonymous reporting of suspected corruptions and economic crimes and to communicate with the police case handlers while staying completely anonymous.
The system only accepts and processes corruption and economic crime reports, such as fraud, breach of bookkeeping duties, corruption, embezzlement, copyright infringement, competition offences and bankruptcy offences. All other reports are automatically rejected and the reporting person gets informed about alternative reporting channels (e.g. nearest police station). The system also informs the reporting person about the possible “key offence” arising from the content of the report.
One of the main strengths of the system is the possibility to set up an individual anonymous mailbox, where employees of the LKA Lower Saxony can give feedback on what is happening with the report or ask you questions if details are still unclear. The reporting person is still granted anonymity.
The platform can be accessed via the Website of the LKA Lower Saxony or directly via https://www.bkms-system.net/bkwebanon/report/clientInfo?cin=lka149ni&c=-1&language=ger
